He will be assisted by David Hemp, the former Glamorgan batter who is also head coach of Pakistan Women
Gareth Breese will coach Welsh Fire's women's team in The Hundred, with the David Hemp, the head coach of Pakistan Women, among his assistants.
Breese, who spent a decade as a player at Durham and is part of Lisa Keightley's backroom staff with England, replaces Matthew Mott after the Australian took over became head coach of England men's white-ball team.
Aimee Rees, who was part of Welsh Fire in the first year of the competition and is an assistant coach with Western Storm's academy, will also work under Breese, as will Dan Helesfay, Western Storm's regional talent manager.
"This is going to be my first head coach role and I'm excited about the experiences this will bring, I can't wait to meet everyone and get started," said Breese, who is as a performance coach for England Women, having worked with the spinners on the national pathway since 2018.

Hemp, meanwhile, will be in the United Kingdom for the Commonwealth Games, which precede The Hundred. He has previously worked in the Women's Big Bash as Melbourne Stars' head coach. He played for Glamorgan during his professional career.
