The ECB has named The Raine Group and Deloitte as part of a financial advisory team guiding the governing body in its efforts to attract private investment into the eight Hundred teams.

As The Cricketer has extensively reported, the counties have agreed, in general terms, to pursue the idea of investment into The Hundred.

"We'd like to resolve The Hundred issues over the next 12 months," ECB chief executive Richard Gould told The Cricketer in an exclusive interview in the magazine's June issue.

"I think we've seen a lot of success in it. When you look at the figures and attendance levels, the demographic of the people going to The Hundred, it is attracting a younger, more diverse audience… (and) there's no doubt The Hundred has created significant asset value and interest."

Gould insisted, however: "There is a strong consensus that if we're going to bring investment in, it needs to be into the teams rather than the competition because we will not lose control of the summer. The English summer is not for sale."

An ECB statement around the announcement of its advisors added: "The ECB will continue working closely and collaboratively with its members through the process, including finalising how proceeds will be distributed among the first-class counties, MCC and the recreational game."

The Raine Group are set to lead on the transaction process, including the sourcing of partners and negotiating investment terms, while Deloitte have been enlisted to provide "strategic advice to the ECB throughout the transaction process in respect of proposed team investments".

Latham & Watkins and Onside Law LLP have been enlisted as legal co-counsel.

"With proceeds from any investment going direct to the recreational and the county game, it will support the other parts of cricket which are so cherished by fans and players alike and play an important role in identifying and developing talent," said ECB director of business operations Vikram Banerjee.
