ISAAC GLEAVE: Dwarshuis, an Australian international, has experience of playing in England after a T20 Blast spell with Worcestershire last season
Ben Dwarshuis has been added to Birmingham Phoenix men's squad for The Hundred following an achilles injury to Adam Milne that has ruled the New Zealand fast bowler out for the remainder of the competition.
Dwarshuis, an Australian international, has experience of playing in England after a T20 spell with Worcestershire last season. The 28-year-old adds a left-arm seam option to a potent attack comprised of Henry Brookes, Tom Helm and Kane Richardson that has helped Phoenix to two wins from their opening three matches.
Fresh from his debut T20I appearance with the Aussies in Pakistan back in April, Dwarshuis was previously enjoying a profitable Big Bash tournament with Sydney Sixers, taking a maiden five-wicket haul in January of this year.
With 117 wickets in 83 T20 matches, Dwarshuis appears a suitable replacement for Milne, who finished last year's edition with the best economy rate, and was the joint-leading wicket-taker with 12.

"We're really pleased to be able to recruit such an experienced fast bowler in Ben," Craig Flindall, Birmingham Phoenix general manager, said. "Naturally, we're disappointed that Adam couldn't feature for us this year, but Ben will add a left-arm option to our exciting group."
Dwarshuis is set to arrive from Australia on Monday and will meet up with his teammates ahead of Northern Superchargers' visit to Edgbaston on Friday evening.
