Australia have named a 14-strong squad to ahead of their ODI series against Zimbabwe and New Zealand later this summer, creating question marks around the availability of several players for the second season of the Hundred.

Australia's three-match series against Zimbabwe is scheduled to begin on August 28 in Townsville, with further matches on August 31 and September 3. They will then travel to Cairns for three ODIs against New Zealand on September 6, 8 and 11.

The Hundred, meanwhile, is scheduled to run from August 3 to September 3, meaning several teams could be without key overseas players for the back end of the tournament.

Four players from Australia's squad have Hundred contracts: Glenn Maxwell (London Spirit), Sean Abbott (Manchester Originals), Marcus Stoinis (Southern Brave) and Adam Zampa (Welsh Fire).

Maxwell, picked up in the £100,000 category ahead of the inaugural tournament, and Marcus Stoinis (£125,000) were among numerous players to pull out of the 2021 edition due to bubble fatigue and Covid concerns.

Zampa (then of Birmingham Phoenix) also withdrew from last year's event before being picked up by Welsh Fire for £100,000 in the 2022 draft.

Bowling-allrounder Abbott signed for Manchester Originals for £60,000.

However, there will still be a sizeable Australian contingent for the duration of the tournament, with Matthew Wade, Kane Richardson, Ben McDermott, Daniel Sams, Hilton Cartwright, Riley Meredith and Ashton Turner all contracted to various sides.
