Surely the solution is fewer teams, not more? Would take up less time in the calendar - freeing up time, and stopping the last week defection of many of the big stars to the CPL; would allow better salaries without increasing the losses and would improve best-v-best quality in a way that works for the PSL.

I get the impression it's a last throw of the dice for this monstrosity. The folk who championed it aren't around any more at the sharp end so maybe some attention will be paid to the counties, who are at the core of the professional game. The blast is a perfectly adequate example of the format and doesn't need direct competition from inside the game. It just seems like an ego trip for the marketing men.

Cannot believe we are still taking about this rubbish!! Time to jettison. Spend the money for improvements on the current T20 competition. Free up the calendar.
