Warwickshire have announced contracts extensions for four players as plans ahead of the new season continue.

Right-arm quick Norwell, 29, has penned a fresh two-year deal to extend his spell until the 2023 season.

Allrounder Ethan Brookes and quick George Garrett will move onto full-time contracts from October and will remain for an additional 24 months beyond that.

Academy graduate Manraj Johal meanwhile has prolonged his rookie deal through to the end of the 2022 campaign.

Confirmation of the deals comes after securing the arrival of Carlos Brathwaite and Pieter Malan as overseas players. Danny Briggs and Jacob Bethell have also arrived in the off-season.

"Our plans for the 2021 season and beyond have really moved forwards in the last few weeks with new signings and contract extensions," said director of cricket Paul Farbrace.

"We think a huge amount of Liam and his run of Championship games in 2019 helped turn our season around. He’s had some terrible luck with injuries, but he’s looking fit, he is bowling very well in training, and he has an important role to play in our seam attack.

"George and Ethan both made their first class debuts in the 2019 season and they are continuing to develop and learn a lot from the senior members of the squad. We think that they have big roles to play in the future of the club and we’re delighted to ensure that they will remain Bears.

"Manraj has impressed all of the players and coaches since he started training with the senior men’s squad last winter. He subsequently won his first rookie contract and has relished taking on more responsibility since becoming a professional cricketer. He’s another very exciting prospect for the club."
