The feeling of elation after a hard-fought victory on the cricket pitch is hard to beat.

Throw in a drink with your mates and it would be just about the perfect evening… until now.

Imagine that joyous emotion, while over your shoulder, the highlights of the match you have taken part in are being replayed on the big screen. There's a cheer as your winning boundary, swatted through the covers, is broadcast on TV, followed by more backslapping and adulation. Heady stuff.

FrogBox have made that dream a reality for hundreds of clubs up and down the country, who have invested in their streaming software. The system is competitively priced and easy to install, which is one of the key reasons for its popularity with clubs, according to sales manager Chris Watling.

"Cricket clubs are run by volunteers in the main so we knew the install process had to be straightforward and not consume lots of time. Our vision is for a user-friendly livestreaming service that enables clubs to broadcast fixtures out to their members and the masses beyond. In short, if you can operate a smartphone, you will have no problem setting the kit up, usually within 10 minutes of unpacking. It really is as simple as that."

FrogBox is integrated with the Play-Cricket Scorer app, which can be downloaded from the App store or Google Play store. The live stream and highlights can be easily found on Play-Cricket Live and also Play-Cricket.com. So if you just want to look at that four, six or wicket you can very quickly find the footage to review.

The action is streamed via wifi or on the 4G network and can be watched live all over the world. This does mean clips can go viral, as Watling explains.

"It's great to watch the stream back. You can filter to just look at the boundaries you hit, how you were out or that great caught and bowled. And also the howlers get captured too – there is no hiding place! Take Illingworth St Mary's Cricket Club in Yorkshire. A FrogBox clip capturing a six being hit by Asif Ali through his own car window screen went viral – racking up over 15million views worldwide across various social media. It has had a huge impact on the profile of the club and has brought them new sponsors too."

Raising funds is a constant theme for cricket clubs, never more so than when emerging from a pandemic. As Watling reveals, FrogBox can assist with opening new revenue streams.

"Club sponsors can have their logos on the live stream and highlights package and there is also the option to showcase sponsors in between overs and to align them with highlights packages and showreels created at the end of each match.

"This adds so much more value than a company logo on a playing shirt, making clubs sponsorships far more attractive to local businesses and increasing the likelihood of raising funds for the club.”

"With new software called Lilypad being integrated this year, which will enable clubs to quickly create highlight packages and showreels, the FrogBox system is set to bring members and friends of the club even closer together this year and beyond."
