If none of the games can be completed due to more poor weather, Finals Day will be rescheduled for October 7. Should the first semi-final be completed on Sunday, however, then the competition will come to a conclusion on Sunday
No play was possible at Edgbaston on Saturday, with persistent rain throughout meaning that T20 Blast Finals Day will head into a reserve day for the first time in its history.
The same playing conditions will remain in place on Sunday, with the first semi-final between Surrey and Gloucestershire scheduled to begin at 11am.
But, if none of the games can be completed due to more poor weather, Finals Day will be rescheduled for October 7, for which there would be no reserve day.
However, should the first semi-final be completed on Sunday – with only five overs per side required to constitute a game, then the competition will come to a conclusion on Sunday one way or another, with bowl-outs involved if necessary.
If Finals Day had to be rescheduled for October 7, bowl-outs would be used to determine the winner if no play was possible on the day.
An ECB statement explained: “We are committed to trying to ensure that the competition is completed on-field.
“The measures have been unanimously agreed with all four teams, the ECB Board, the host venue and our broadcast partners.”
