The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action from the latest round of matches in the 2024 Vitality Blast
Lord's: Essex 129-4 (12.4), Middlesex 63-2 (6) - Essex won by 16 runs (DLS)
Essex Eagles claimed their third successive Vitality Blast victory after overcoming Middlesex by 16 runs in their heavily rain-affected South Group game at Lord's.
The visitors reached 129 for 4 after 12.4 overs, with Jordan Cox unbeaten on 31 from 19 balls when a heavy downpour enveloped the ground.
Middlesex's target was revised to 143 from 12 overs – and subsequently 80 from six after another rain stoppage, but that unlikely equation proved beyond their reach.
Despite a valiant effort by Max Holden, who hammered an undefeated 41 from 24, the home side fell short on 63 for 2.

Cardiff: Glamorgan, Hampshire - no result
The Vitality Blast match between Glamorgan and Hampshire in Cardiff was abandoned without a ball bowled, with heavy rain all day making any play impossible. The bad weather had already wiped out the Charlotte Edwards Cup match between Western Storm and Thunder and the umpires made the call to abandon this game at 7.30pm.
Both Glamorgan and Hampshire came into this game with two wins and two losses and would have been hoping for a positive result to keep them in the hunt for quarter finals places. Unfortunately, the rain did not stop for long enough for the teams to get this match underway and both teams leave with a point a piece for the no result.
Hampshire will now travel to home ahead of their match against Middlesex at the Utilita Bowl scheduled for Friday evening. Glamorgan's next match will be on Sunday against Somerset in Taunton.
