Scott Boland had been due to represent the club in both first-class and T20 cricket until the end of July but sustained a foot injury on his Championship debut
Durham have signed Ben Dwarshuis to replace his compatriot Scott Boland in the T20 Blast.
Boland had been due to represent Durham in both first-class and T20 cricket until the end of July but sustained a foot injury on his Championship debut which has since ruled him out of the remainder of his stint at the county.
Veteran Australian Peter Siddle was brought in as red-ball cover, signing a six-game contract in late April, while Dwarshuis joins allrounder Ashton Turner and batter David Bedingham in Durham's overseas ranks for the T20 Blast.
Dwarshuis has taken 154 wickets with an economy of 8.17 in 123 T20 appearances across his career, including earning three caps for Australia.

He has previously represented Worcestershire in the T20 Blast, picking up 15 wickets in 13 outings in 2021.
"With the loss of Scott Boland and the T20 World Cup being played through the tournament, it was important we found the right cricketer who can play a key role for us this season," director of cricket, Marcus North, said.

"Ben has a terrific record for Sydney Sixers and is constantly up there as one of the top wicket-takers in the BBL. His white-ball cricket skills are very good and the left-arm options gives variety to an already strong bowling attack and he can also contribute with the bat."
Dwarshuis added: "Durham has pulled together a really great squad this year and I'm sure we'll give this competition a good crack. I can't wait to get started."
