Winchester College made it back-to-back wins on Sunday by chasing down 104 with five balls to spare and chalk up a three-wicket victory over Radley College.

Radley posted 103 for 4 to set up an exciting chase with Winchester needing to knock it off in 90 deliveries in order to leapfrog Scarborough into second place in the league table on net run-rate.

Paddy Fisher, who had been very economical with the ball in Winchester's first two games, continued his fruitful tournament to finish with figures of 3 for 15 and help his side put the opposition on the back foot at 17 for 3.

From there Jack Cotterell anchored Radley's innings with an unbeaten 33 and captain Rollo Harrap played nicely for his 31 before being bowled by Zach Roberts. Together the pair batted resiliently to move the score to 85 before the captain fell looking to carve one through the off side.

With scoreboard and run-rate pressure on, Zain Malik (26) and Henry Nicholls (11) put Winchester on their way.

Winchester's Seb Morgan

When Nicholls was caught behind off Edward Horsfield, that brought in-form Winchester batsman Will la Fontaine Jackson to the crease but for the first time in the tournament he fell cheaply - lbw to Luke Loveland for 1.

George Gardiner (5) and Malik fell in quick succession to Declan Rugg and Loveland respectively as the chase faltered.

It fell to Chris Batten and Seb Morgan - who played one exquisite reverse sweep for four - to get the chase back on track. Together the pair added 44 to the total and at one point managed to get the net run-rate equation down to five off five before Batten edged Loveland through to Rory Acheson-Gray behind the stumps.

Five off five became four off two but Winchester couldn't edge over the required line. Once the net run-rate equation became irrelevant the end of the innings became somewhat scrappy as Winchester finished seven wickets down with victory coming off a wide ball.
