The returning St Paul's School got off to a winning start in 2025 with a comprehensive victory over Kingswood School.

A fine all-round performance From Nikhil Malik saw St Paul's set a tournament marker at Desert Springs. Having taken a share caught & bowled earlier in the day, Malik’s quickfire 25 off 13, including one four and two sixes, got his side off to a flier in the chase.

Providing support were Tamash Raaj (14* off 19), and Amar Ali (14* off 21), as St Paul's reached their target with 49 balls in hand.

For Kingswood, Freddie Stappard was the pick of the batters. His 26 off 40, including two fours, was the highest score of this year’s tournament, so far.

Fergus de Mestre and Rohan de Silva each took a brace for S Paul's, and Yash Dhasmana claimed 1 for 7 from his three-over spell.

Kingswood will look to bounce back on day two, while St Paul's end day one in Spain at the top of the table, ahead of Park View Academy on net run rate.
