An impressive showing from the top order saw Canford School record their third win of the tournament, beating Westminster School by 25 runs.

Openers George Guirdham 22 (28) and Ben Jack put on 63 for the first wicket with the latter’s 47-ball 48 anchoring Canford’s innings.

Useful knocks from Dill Howel (22 off 14) and Sam Martin (12* off 5) helped propel the total well beyond three figures, while Raffi Organ faced just the final ball of the innings which he sent to the boundary for four as Canford racked up 126 for 4.

In reply, Westminster couldn’t find the momentum required to seriously trouble the target. All of their top six reached double figures, but none went on to produce a match-changing knock, with Arran Duguid’s 23 his team’s highest score.

Opener Alfie Jewell played nicely for his 18, producing one of the shots of the day with a classy cover drive to the boundary.

Westminster can be pleased with their 101 for 7 against a strong Canford side, who rise to second in the league table.
