Yorkshire city seeks girls' and boys' double in national youth competition
Bradford will bid to win the double when the MCC Foundation National Hub finals take place at Lord's tomorrow.
The day represents the culmination of the annual competition run alongside the MCCF’s flagship National Hub programme, which provides free-to-access coaching and match-play to 4,700 state-educated boys and girls at 126 centres across the country.
This year, the Bradford and Wembley hubs have reached the final of the boys’ competition, while Bradford and Guildford have reached the girls’ finals.
The Wembley hub will be making their Lord’s debut, while Bradford boys are seeking redemption following last year’s finals defeat to Reading.
Reigning girls’ champions Guildford are finalists for a third year in a row, while Bradford girls return to the final for the first time since their victory in 2021.
Heather Knight, England women's captain and MCC Foundation ambassador, said: "I'm delighted to be an ambassador for the MCC Foundation.
"I've admired the work the MCCF has done from afar, so I jumped at the chance to support such a brilliant cause.
"Cricket has given me so many amazing experiences and taught me so many life lessons, so I look forward to giving back a little and helping young people develop a similar lifelong love of the game."
