What's the match?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape host Joburg Super Kings in the next match of the SA20 in 2023.

When is it taking place?

The start of play is scheduled for 5.30pm local time (3.30pm GMT) on Saturday, January 21.

Where is the match being played?

The game will be staged at St George's Park in Gqeberha.

Who's got the form?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape have been the surprise package of the SA20, particularly after losing their first two games.

They recruited a batch of smaller-name overseas players and pinned their hopes on Marco Jansen and Tristan Stubbs. And while that didn't immediately pay off, both have come to the fore in three successive wins.

Joburg Super Kings would kill for that form; they have struggled almost without exception to put partnerships together and have generally relied on individual brilliance. Faf du Plessis' half century against Pretoria Capitals was one such knock, but his side were still bowled out inside 16 overs.

What's the key match-up?

The key for Joburg is to find a way of keeping wickets intact rather than the gradual collapses that have left them short.

Donovan Ferreira is a key player in their ranks; he has already smashed an unbeaten 82 from the middle order in this competition to announce his potential, but Super Kings need more consistency from him.

Du Plessis aside, Reeza Hendricks is having a poor tournament, as is Kyle Verreynne, and Lewis Gregory is yet to impact a game as an overseas allrounder.

What's the weather forecast?

A smattering of cloud but mostly sunny, with temperatures hitting around 26 degrees Celsius at the start of play on Saturday.

What is the team news?

Tom Abell has left Sunrisers but otherwise it would be a surprise to see many changes from a side on a roll, though Jordan Cox's lack of runs could see his position come under threat.

Joburg have to work out a winning formula, with Janneman Malan left out against Pretoria. He could return, perhaps at Hendricks' expense. Aaron Phangiso has had his bowling action reported but is free to continue playing for the time being.

What are the squads?

Sunrisers Eastern Cape: Tom Abell, Marques Ackerman, Ottniel Baartman, Brydon Carse, Mason Crane, Jordan Cox, Junaid Dawood, Sarel Erwee, James Fuller, Aya Gqamane, Marco Jansen, Jordan Hermann, Sisanda Magala, Aiden Markram, Tristan Stubbs, Adam Rossington, Jon-Jon Smuts, Roelof van der Merwe

What are the odds?

Betway can barely separate these two, with 5/6 available on the away win for Joburg Super Kings and 10/11 for a Sunrisers Eastern Cape success.

What's the prediction?

Sunrisers are on a roll, and they will be confident of continuing that run.
