Joburg Super Kings spinner Aaron Phangiso has been reported for a suspected illegal bowling action.

The 38-year-old has picked up six wickets in five outings for the Super Kings in the SA20, including best figures of 4 for 32 against Pretoria Capitals on January 17.

It was following that match that the match officials team raised questions about his action.

An independent panel, which consists of Gerrie Pienaar, Vernon Philander, and Vincent Barnes, has seven days to review the match footage and reach a conclusion.

Phangiso can continue to bowl during this period.

The left-armer, one of seven ever-present players for the Super Kings, has played 188 T20 matches across his career, taking 176 wickets and maintaining an economy of 6.64.

He featured 16 times for South Africa in the format, taking 20 wickets. His most recent international outing came back in 2018.
