Kasi Viswanathan, the chief executive of the Super Kings franchise, confirmed the ECB's decision to pull Brook out of the SA20
Harry Brook has been withdrawn from the SA20 by the ECB to manage his workload, according to the franchise he was due to represent.
Brook was set to play for Joburg Super Kings in South Africa's new tournament, which is set for its inaugural campaign in January.
However, following his exertions with England over recent months, he has instead been told to rest.

"Since he plays all three formats, the ECB thinks it is too risky to permit him to play the SA20. We have received the communication from the ECB.
"We will have to look for a replacement."
Brook is part of the England ODI squad which will head to South Africa for three matches in late January and early February, as well as being included in the Test party due to travel to New Zealand for two matches from mid-February.

His hectic 2022 included a stint in the Pakistan Super League prior to a run-filled start to the red-ball summer with Yorkshire, and then a series of callups to England squads in all formats.
He was a part of the T20 World Cup-winning squad in Australia, and dominated the Pakistan attack during England's series whitewash on their first visit to the country for a Test tour since 2005.
The 23-year-old is highly likely to be included in both the ODI and T20 squads for the tour of Bangladesh in March, and will then get a first taste of Indian Premier League cricket, after Sunrisers Hyderabad bought him for £1.3million in the recent IPL mini auction.
