The veteran left-arm spinner was reported last week but has now been suspended
Joburg Super Kings left-arm spinner Aaron Phangiso has been suspended from bowling due to an illegal action.
He was reported following Joburg's SA20 clash with Pretoria Capitals, in which Phangiso, 38, claimed figures of 4 for 32 – his second four-wicket haul of the competition. He has 10 wickets in six games.
His ban, which came into effect immediately, was handed down on Tuesday by an independent bowling action panel consisting of match referee Zama Ndamane, former South Africa seamer Vernon Philander and Cricket South Africa high-performance manager Vincent Barnes.
On Saturday, during the period between Phangiso being reported and suspended, he took 4 for 20 and was named player of the match in Super Kings' win over Sunrisers Eastern Cape.

The former South Africa bowler represented his country 16 times up to 2018; this is the second time in his career that Phangiso has faced these issues. He was reported in 2016 but cleared following remedial work.
A statement from the SA20 competition added that Joburg have requested to have Phangiso's action tested under laboratory conditions at an ICC-accredited centre. If that testing shows his action to be legal, he would be allowed to resume bowling.
