The South African wicketkeeper has been cleared to bat in the second innings after a scan revealed no fracture
South Africa wicketkeeper Quinton de Kock has been cleared to bat in the second ODI at Bloemfontein after an X-ray on a damaged thumb revealed no fracture.
He was hit while wicketkeeping by the final ball of the fifteenth over, bowled by Anrich Nortje, after Harry Brook under-edged an attempted pull shot through to the keeper.
De Kock got his gloves to the ball as it reached him on the half-volley but immediately called for the South African physio.

A delay followed while he was treated before leaving the field, with Heinrich Klaasen – in South Africa's side as a specialist batter – taking over with the gloves after strapping up his hands in the dressing room.
Janneman Malan, who came on as a substitute fielder, promptly caught Ben Duckett at long-on. Klaasen took good catches to dismiss Chris Woakes and Sam Curran.
