Former England international Sarah Taylor believes Threlkeld is "one of the best" wicketkeepers in the country and says "the world is her oyster"
DOB: November 16, 1998
Role: Right-hand bat, wicketkeeper
On the fringes of the England setup, Thunder captain Ellie Threlkeld is a huge wicketkeeping talent and arguably the front-runner to take the gloves from Amy Jones when the time comes.
Involved with Lancashire since Under-11s, she was ever-present for Lancashire Thunder in the Kia Super League, scoring 285 runs in 30 appearances.
Since the regional restructuring in 2020, Threlkeld has established herself as increasingly important figure with the bat, culminating in her topping the run-scoring charts (266 runs in six innings) for Thunder in the Rachael Heyhoe Flint Trophy in 2022. She often takes on an anchoring role behind the more aggressive Emma Lamb.
Former England international Sarah Taylor believes Threlkeld is "one of the best" wicketkeepers in the country and says "the world is her oyster".
Threlkeld, however, believes she has to give more with the bat: "It's always been a dream to play for England but that's not going happen until I start winning games for Lancashire and Thunder with the bat. I need to be a batter who can keep wicket, not a wicketkeeper who can bat."
Threlkeld represents childhood club Rainford CC whenever time allows and was also a promising footballer in her youth, coming through the Liverpool academy and playing for Wigan Athletic.
