Trent Bridge: The Blaze 136, Northern Diamonds 132 - The Blaze won by four runs

Kathryn Bryce held her nerve at the death to secure a dramatic final-over victory for The Blaze over Northern Diamonds in the Charlotte Edwards Cup at Trent Bridge.

Charged with defending 13 off the final five deliveries, the Scotland international didn't ship a boundary to secure a four-run success.

She had earlier top-scored with 31 as the 2023 runners-up were bowled out for 136 batting first.

Australian allrounder Erin Burns continued her impressive campaign with 5 for 25. Katie Levick also claimed 3 for 22, dismissing Bryce in the 14th over, and Diamonds had good reason to be encouraged at the halfway mark.

They reached 94 for 2 in the 16th over but lost Lauren Winfield-Hill (38), bowled by Bryce, and it was an uphill task from there.

Kirstie Gordon took 3 for 20 - claiming two in a crucial penultimate over - while the visitors' chase was not helped by the run-outs of Burns (22) and Sterre Kalis (3).

Needing 19 off the last, Katherine Fraser hit a six to reduce the equation. But Bryce stayed calm to deliver a second straight victory for The Blaze, and leave Diamonds - beaten by Thunder in their opener - left to reflect on another defeat.
