Multan Sultans have received a setback early in their Pakistan Super League campaign with the news Shahnawaz Dahani will miss the rest of the tournament.

Dahani has sustained a fracture to a finger in his bowling hand and will begin a period of recuperation.

His absence will create a considerable hole in the Sultans' first-choice lineup. Dahani collected 17 wickets for Multan last season, as they finished top of the table before losing the final to the Qalandars.

Confirmation of the extent of the bowler's injury came hours before the Sultans' second match of the season, against Quetta Gladiators in Multan.

The Sultans have drafted in Mohammad Ilyas as a replacement for Dahani.
