Mahmadullah to miss PSL playoffs after testing positive for coronavirus

The 34-year-old was due to play for Multan Sultans in the playoffs

Bangladesh allrounder Mahmadullah has been ruled out of the Pakistan Super League playoffs after testing positive for coronavirus.

The 34-year-old was due to play for Multan Sultans in the playoffs, which are scheduled to take place in Karachi from November 14 to 17.

In a statement, the Pakistan Cricket Board said that Mahmadullah tested positve "in the pre-departure test that was conducted in Bangladesh." As a result, Multan Sultans can now draft in a replacement overseas player if they wish.

Elsewhere, Peshawar Zalmi will be without Liam Livingstone after he was selected by England to tour South Africa. He has been replaced by Lancashire teammate Saqib Mahmood.

Karachi Kings and Lahore Qalanders will also feature in the playoffs which were delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
