Multan Sultans will be without James Vince for the rescheduled Pakistan Super League playoffs after the England batsman tested positive for Covid-19.

The 29-year-old must self-isolate for 10 days according to government rules, ruling him out of the knock-out stage which starts on November 14.

During the group stage Vince (No.79 in the Men's T20 Player Index) struck 155 runs in five innings for Sultans, who face Karachi Kings for a place in the final in the Qualifier on Saturday.

"Gutted to be missing the PSL finals due to testing positive for covid," said the Hampshire man on Twitter. "Will be cheering Multan Sultans on from home."

In a statement on Twitter, Sultans said: Get well soon. You will always be an integral part, and your exploits will be severely missed! Our well-wishes and prayers are with you and your family."

ESPNcricinfo understand that Joe Denly, who was left out of England's tour of South Africa, is a candidate to replace Vince.

Bangladesh allrounder Mahmadullah has already been ruled out for Sultans after also testing positive for coronavirus.
