The fast bowler suffered the blow in the process of catching Hasan Ali at the death in Lahore Qalandars' defeat by Karachi Kings
Haris Rauf has been ruled out for the remainder of the Pakistan Super League with a dislocated shoulder.
The fast bowler suffered the blow in the process of catching Hasan Ali at the death in Lahore Qalandars' defeat by Karachi Kings.
"It's indeed a setback for the franchise, but he is also Pakistan's main bowler," said Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi, "and we have a lot of cricket coming up ahead so a pragmatic approach was to give him the maximum time to recover."
He added: "Wishing him a speedy recovery, and we eagerly await his return to the field stronger than ever."
Reigning champions Lahore have struggled so far in this year's tournament, without a win in their opening four games.
It has been a difficult month for Rauf, who had his central contract terminated and all no-objection certificates for overseas competitions revoked through to the end of June as sanction for opting out of Pakistan's Test tour of Australia.

He was accused by a PCB statement of failing to respect "the ultimate honour and privilege for any sportsperson" by turning down a call from his country.
"Refusal to be part of Pakistan's Test squad in the absence of any medical report or justifiable reason is a material violation of the central contract," it added.
Rauf opted out, pointing to concerns over his workload and fitness – a stance that found little favour with either Wahab Riaz or Mohammad Hafeez, both recent appointments to selection and directorship roles.
"Of course there's fatigue, but we were sure we could have managed that very well," said Wahab at the time. "But he pulled out at the last moment and he made himself unavailable. I think this will hurt Pakistan cricket."
