LISTEN: Why Chris Woakes is England's 'unswung' hero, selections headaches for Old Trafford, the incredible longevity of Jimmy Anderson and an unexpected window charge are all discussed on the latest Cricketer Podcast
The Ashes are still alive and JONATHAN TROTT, GEORGE DOBELL and PHILIP BROWN are back to pick the bones of yet another astonishing Test in the latest episode of The Cricketer Podcast.
George and Jonathan discuss one of Hedingley's heroes, Chris Woakes, with Trotty reminiscing about the stud-earring wearing youth who came through at Warwickshire back in 2006.
"What you see is what you get. Not many times have I seen Chris Woakes flustered, lose his cool, cross; he's probably one of the most level people I've ever met."
"It always seems whatever he does, he's always seen as the supporting guy," says George. "He's won two World Cups. He's got a better bowling average in England than Jimmy Anderson. And yet he feels a bit underrated."
Selection at Old Trafford is up for debate, as is the art of wicketkeeping, the inevitable end of the road for Jimmy Anderson, and paying for a view of beautiful Birmingham at a restaurant.
