Pakistan and Bangladesh officials are set to announce whether the third leg of their multi-format tour will go ahead this week.

The global coronavirus pandemic has already led to 15 players fleeing the Pakistan Super League and the competition being reduced.

At the time of writing, there are 53 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Pakistan and five in Bangladesh.

The Tigers are due to play a single one-day international and the second Test in Karachi on April 3 and April 5-9.

A decision regarding whether the matches will go ahead is imminent, with talks ongoing between the PCB and BCB regarding the tour.

"The final decision is yet to be made. We're in close contact with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB). I hope the final decision will be made within the next couple of days," said BCB president Nazmul Hassan.

"Families of the cricketers are also concerned about coronavirus. They're not willing to send their sons to play cricket amid this fear. So, I think it is tough for us to tour Pakistan now."

PCB chief executive Wasim Khan added: "I talked with Nizamuddin, (Chowdhury, BCB's chief executive) but he will first talk to his board and hopefully we will get some clarity in the next three days."

Pakistan won the three-match T20 series 2-0 - the third clash was abandoned due to rain - in January before prevailing by an innings and 44 runs in the first Test in Rawalpindi in February.
