The 21-year-old has only made three professional outings for the Trent Bridge club but has done enough to win a new deal
As English domestic cricket leaves 2020 behind, Nottinghamshire end it on top
Nottinghamshire have given allrounder Lyndon James a new two-year contract.
The deal keeps the 21-year-old at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2021 campaign.
James has turned out three times for the Notts first team and made just a single outing this term in the Bob Willis Trophy.
A regular captain of the second XI, James joined the club aged 10 and is a product of the academy.
"I’m proud to be representing my home county, and I’m excited to see how our team can progress over the next couple of years," he said.
"The challenge is on for me to make sure I’m at the top of my game to push those in possession and earn a regular place in the side."
Head coach Peter Moores added: "Lyndon’s had a couple of years to become accustomed to senior cricket, and that time around the first-team squad has really benefited him.
"The way he’s acquitted himself when he’s played, and how he’s trained and conducted himself around the group, has been really encouraging to see and a great example to other young players."
