Tom Sole has signed a two-year deal with Northamptonshire
Northamptonshire have handed a contract to Scotland international Tom Sole.
Sole, the son of former Scotland rugby player David, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal at Wantage Road.
He turned out for Northants Steelbacks in last season's T20 Blast and made his one-day international debut earlier in the campaign.
"Obviously Tom’s season was ravaged by his ankle problem, but we see him as a very strong white-ball cricketer capable of starting the campaign in both the 50-over and T20 formats next year," said head coach David Ripley.
COUNTY TRANSFERS: Catch up with all the ins and outs
"He’s also keen to improve his red-ball cricket in order to push the players currently ahead of him in the pecking order."
Bedford School product Charlie Thurston has also been given a contract by the county.
The batsman broke into the Northamptonshire first team in 2018 after impressing in the 2nd XI. He has been given a summer deal for next season.
"It was great to see him finish his red-ball season with a double-hundred for the seconds against Scotland A," said Ripley.
"He will be spending his winter working on his game in New Zealand, and we look forward to catching up with him again in pre-season."
