They were scheduled to return from India on March 24 but will now leave for the UK as soon as possible
Yorkshire have confirmed that their pre-season tour of India is to be cut short, with the squad returning to England “at the earliest opportunity” in light of the global coronavirus outbreak.
Seamers Ben Coad, Matthew Fisher, Duanne Olivier and Matthew Waite came out to Mumbai early with bowling coach Richard Pyrah, before they were joined by the rest of their group.
They were scheduled to return from India on March 24 but will now leave for the UK as soon as possible.
The club made the decision to end the tour after monitoring the development of COVID-19.
A statement declared: “With England’s tour to Sri Lanka postponed earlier today, and the spread of the virus expected to continue, this was deemed as the only possible course of action.
“The health of the players, support staff and their families come first. The club will continue to monitor the situation surrounding the virus as plans for alternative preparations for the season are made.”
