The 23-year-old will remain at Headingley for at least two further seasons after making his County Championship and One-Day Cup debuts in 2019
Yorkshire academy graduate Jordan Thompson has signed a contract extension that will keep him on the books at Headingley until the end of the 2021 season.
The Leeds-born allrounder made his List A debut in May and broke through to the County Championship side for the first time one month later during games against Surrey and Warwickshire.
He went on to become a regular fixture in the Vikings' T20 Blast XI, striking a 26-ball half-century from number eight in their opening game and claiming four wickets across his nine appearances.
"I've played for the White Rose since I was nine years old and have come through the pathways," Thompson commented. "I always said it was a dream of mine to walk out at Headingley and play for Yorkshire.
"I've been performing consistently in the second team for a few years now with both bat and ball, so it was just a matter of taking those skills into the first team action. I’m pleased with how that went.
"[With the new contract] I'm hoping to play more first team games and cement my place. I've debuted in each format over the last few years, so I know what it's all about now. It's now about performing consistently for the first team."

Earlier this month, Yorkshire bolstered their squad by securing England batsman Dawid Malan on a four-year deal shortly after he resigned as club captain at Middlesex.
West Indies wicketkeeper Nicholas Pooran has also agreed to return to Headingley on a T20 Blast deal after striking at 184.84 during a three-game spell earlier this year.
Director of cricket Martyn Moxon added: "Jordan showed huge potential when he played in both the County Championship games and T20s, so hopefully he will continue to progress and become a regular in all formats over the next couple of years.
"He's one of a number of lads that have come through our talent pathway that have shown that they are capable of performing at first team level.
"What they need now is more experience, and with that will come consistency, which will produce trophies."
