An injury in training has ruled the Nottinghamshire 'keeper out of action and the decision has been taken for him to return home
Ben Cox, the Worcestershire wicket-keeper, has been called into the England Lions squad for the first time for the remainder of the tour of Australia.
The 28-year-old, one of the most highly regarded 'keepers in the country, replaces Tom Moores who suffered an injury in training on Sunday.
And with the team facing four matches across the next eight days, the decision has been taken for Nottinghamshire's Moores to return home to recover.
With James Bracey behind the stumps, the Lions got their tour off to a winning start over the weekend with a six-wicket win over a Cricket Australia XI which included Will Pucovski, who was forced to retire hurt during the match.
Two further games against the same opponent follow in Carrara before the team travel to Sydney to face a New South Wales XI.
Further matches are then scheduled in Hobart, Melbourne and Wollongong before the tour concludes on March 1.
