Wes Agar has extended his stay at Kent until the end of the July, subject to visa confirmation.

The Australian seamer will be available for the remainder of the T20 Blast as well as five County Championship matches.

Agar's original contract saw him represent Kent in four first-class fixtures, picking up 12 wickets at 28.41.

He made his T20 bow for Kent against Somerset on May 30, picking up 3 for 18 as the visitors were restricted to 154.

Agar said: "I've loved my time at Kent so far – I've felt at home over here and the lads have been great.

"The time has flown by so to be staying on is something I'm stoked to be doing.

"I was in the crowd at the Spitfire Ground to see us beat Gloucestershire and the atmosphere was superb – I'll absolutely continue to give it my all."

Director of cricket, Paul Downton, added: "We are delighted that Wes has agreed to extend his stay with us until the end of July.

"His main focus will continue to be Championship cricket, but he will also join our Vitality Blast squad as cover for Kane Richardson and George Linde.

"By making himself available for the next five Championship matches, it creates the possibility of both Wes and Arshdeep Singh playing together in our Championship team, which will be an exciting prospect for Kent supporters."
