McCafferty, who has served as a non-executive director on the county's board since 2016, steps up to replace the outgoing Norman Gascoigne, who leaves the role after a decade
The former Premiership Rugby chief executive Mark McCafferty has been named as the new chairman of Warwickshire.
McCafferty, who has served as a non-executive director on the county's board since 2016, steps up to replace the outgoing Norman Gascoigne, who leaves the role after a decade.
Warwickshire say McCafferty's appointment comes at the end of a "comprehensive interview process".
He recently stood down from his role with Premiership Rugby after 14 years.
"English cricket fans have had an incredible 2019 and many of those memories were forged here at Edgbaston. We’re now in strong position to build on 2019 and, as has always been the case, Warwickshire will look to be a leader in the next phase of growth and development," McCafferty said.
"We have a great group of people here to build further success both on and off the pitch and to achieve something special together. I’m excited about working with the board to help realise those ambitions and honoured to take on the chair role at this time.
"I particularly want to pay tribute to Norman Gascoigne for everything he has helped achieve for the club as chair over the last 10 years and the guidance he has given to so many of us."
