India have opted to rest Virat Kohli for the T20 series against Bangladesh after confirming their squads for the visit of The Tigers next month.

In an effort to manage his workload the 30-year-old will sit out the three matches with Rohit Sharma replacing him as skipper.

Kohli will, however, return to lead an unchanged squad for the two-Test series which begins on November 14 in Indore.

Alterations have however been made to the white-ball group which sees Shivam Dube earn his maiden call-up, while Sanju Samson has been selected as the back-up wicket-keeper.

Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, Ravi Jadeja and Navdeep Saini all miss out while Jasprit Bumrah remains unavailable due to a stress fracture in his lower back.

Vuzendra Chahal returns and there is also a call-up for Shardul Thakur.

The three-match T20 series between India and Bangladesh kicks off on November 3 in Delhi, before moving on to Rajkot on November 7 and Nagpur on November 10.
