Tom Helm has signed a four-year contract extension with Middlesex, which will keep him at the club until at least the end of the 2026 season.

The 28-year-old quick, who made his debut against Yorkshire in the 2013 Yorkshire Bank 40, has taken 218 wickets in 121 appearances for Middlesex in all formats.

Last season, he made seven first-class appearances as Middlesex were promoted to Division One of the County Championship, scoring 207 runs, including two half-centuries, and taking 29 wickets at 21.96.

Helm made a further seven appearances in the T20 Blast, taking eight wickets, and also featured for Birmingham Phoenix in The Hundred, taking 14 wickets.

That form earned him a spot in England's squad to face Pakistan last September, although he did not make his T20I debut, as well as contracts with Deccan Gladiators (Abu Dhabi T10) and Gulf Giants (ILT20).

Tom Helm said: "I am delighted to extend my stay here at this wonderful club that's already given me so much.

"I'm very excited about what's to come and looking forward to building on the success of last year's promotion."

Middlesex's director of cricket, Alan Coleman, added: "Tom has been a hugely important part of this developing Middlesex squad for many years now and his influence on our performances and on those around him continues to grow.

"Whilst Tom is only 28, he is now one of the senior members of our playing group and it is brilliant news for Middlesex that he has committed his long-term future to the club.

"We are looking to build a side here that will be successful for many years to come, growing as a group together. To get there, it's essential that the young talent we have coming through the group is balanced by the experience of players like Tom – to get such buy in to our long-term vision from the senior members of the side is great to see."
