NICK HOWSON looks at the key moments from the clash at The Ageas Bowl
Southern Brave took a step towards the men's Hundred knock-out stage with a comfortable win to eliminate Welsh Fire at The Ageas Bowl.
James Vince (53) and Quinton de Kock (57*) starred in a comfortable chase of 145.
Tom Banton struck 36 and Glenn Phillips hit an unbeaten 30 as the Fire put on a decent first-innings total but they slipped to a competition-ending defeat with 13 deliveries still to be bowled.
Southern Brave, looking to make it back-to-backs on Wednesday, having taken the ball for the opening 100 balls...
Ball 5: All the way! David Lloyd with a beauty over extra cover for six. The best boundary may well be the first.
Ball 8: Got him! Two dots and then the breakthrough for Danny Briggs, who knows what it takes to get wickets on this ground. Lloyd send it down the throat of James Vince.
Ball 13: This naughty hitting. Banton right into his stride and he unleashes this one over the deep advertising hoardings for a maximum.
Ball 17: Crack! This is like a bolt of thunder off the bat of Banton and it lands in the crowd. Put down by a spectator who will have sore hands after that.
Ball 30: This is a monster. This is a long straight hit that goes over the player dugouts for a maximum. Cockbain as really got on with it.

Ball 32: Chance? Cockbain gets a thick edge and Quinton de Kock uncharacteristically can't cling on.
Ball 43: Banton goes after a wide ball from Lintott and doesn't get hold of all of it. Alex Davies comes round and is a safe pair of hands out in the deep.
Ball 54: Big wicket this one. The competition's leading run-scorer, Ben Duckett, is out for seven bowled by Briggs who is having a good afternoon.
Ball 76: Biggy. Du Plooy was outstanding in the Blast and he's brought his Derbyshire form into this competition. This was an outstanding here a dozen or so rows back.
Ball 78: Taken in the crowd! Credit to the gentleman in the front row who leaps up leans over the advertising hoardings and takes a good grab from another Du Plooyd maximum. Jake Lintott is being sent to all parts now.
Ball 88: I'm sure Eoin Morgan is watching this enjoying every second. Jordan digs one in and Du Plooyd can't get underneath it and it's another single.
Ball 97: "What is that?" barks Phil Tufnell. Glenn Phillips turns on the crease and thrashes the ball through cover, left-handed for a single. This is a great battle between Mills, Jordan, Phillips and Du Plooy
Welsh Fire set the Brave 145 to win. A big 100 balls for the visitors...
Ball 3: Just a flick from Sterling and David Payne goes too straight and it goes for the first boundary of the chase. Sterling has plenty T10 experience, of course.
Ball 7: Sterling rocks back and swings the ball high into the Southampton night and it goes all the way. The Irishman is on fire.
Ball 8: One too many. Fletcher bangs it in a little and will point brought up inside the circle Glenn Phillips is on hand to take the catch.
Ball 14: Poor delivery, dragged down from Phillips and Vince steps back and pulls the ball to the boundary. Good start from the hosts.
π WHAT. A. CATCH! π

Ball 22: Vince goes for a release shot, a slog sweep which goes finer than he would have wanted and Graeme White runs around but can only get one hand to it and it goes for four. Michael Vaughan says drop, but that's a bit harsh.
Ball 30: The Brave are all over this chase and Vince collects a sixth boundary with another pull to cow corner. Quinton de Kock can't get near the strike.
Ball 36: Finally Phillips gets a go at the left-hander De Kock. He narrowly escapes, edging the ball fine for four.
Ball 41: Close! Qais Ahmad is unleashed for a second set and he traps De Kock first ball. The umpire turns down the appeals, as does Duckett who decided against reviewing. Replays show the ball was crashing into leg. How big a moment might that prove to be?
Ball 59: What a shot from De Kock! He turns on a sixpence like a Strictly contestant and it goes all the way. This is a fine innings.
Ball 68: Too little, too late? Vince tries to hit Ahmad over the top and can only pick out the field in off the rope. Ian Cockbain takes the simplest of catches.
Ball 79: The Fire are cooked here. Ahmad has come back to try and break this partnership and he's been dispatched for three boundaries, the latest a wonderful swips into the leg-side.
Glenn Phillips had helped Welsh Fire set an imposing total
Match hero Quinton de Kock said: "We needed this win, an important game for us, glad to get over the line. I wasn't getting much of a chance [in the Powerplay] but I kept going on that wicket, patience was needed there. Nice to get over the line and get some runs and get the team a win. Enjoying my cricket in a new format, new country, new team-mates. We read the wicket and play the situation."
Welsh Fire: 144 off 100 balls (eight fours, seven sixes)
Southern Brave: 147 off 87 (17 fours, four sizes)
Southern Brave win!
