Left-arm spinner Majid was rewarded for his Royal London Cup campaign with selection for England Under-19 in August
Yousef Majid has been rewarded for his performances in the Royal London Cup with his first professional contract at Surrey.
Majid, 19, was given a short-term deal ahead of the 50-over competition and subsequently impressed, taking nine wickets after being registered as part of Surrey's squad amid an availability shortage.
A product of Cranleigh School, a path taken by several Surrey players, Majid was named as the academy player of the year at the county's awards evening on Thursday, following the first team's County Championship title win earlier in the day.
"Yousef has been in and around our group for the last couple of years and the progress he has made during this period has been great to see," said Alec Stewart, Surrey's director of cricket.

"We're pleased that he has signed a contract with the club and look forward to him continuing his development as a cricketer."
Majid made his second-team debut for Surrey in 2021, and the left-arm spinner was rewarded for his Royal London campaign with selection for England Under-19 against Sri Lanka in August, taking three wickets in the Youth Test.
