He will undergo a scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury
Stuart Broad is an injury doubt for the second Test between England and India.
The seamer tweaked his right calf while warming up at Lord’s on Tuesday, leaving him unable to join in training with the rest of Joe Root’s squad in the afternoon.
He will undergo a scan on Wednesday to determine the extent of the injury.
Broad only took one wicket in the first Test at Trent Bridge, his home ground with Nottinghamshire, but he has a magnificent record at Lord’s, where he has claimed 95 Test wickets over the course of his career.
If he were to miss out, it would give England a selection dilemma, though it might also make it more straightforward to facilitate a return for Moeen Ali, who has been recalled to the squad as Chris Silverwood seeks to include a spinner, while also balancing a line-up missing the all-round talents of Ben Stokes.
Mark Wood is the reserve fast bowler in the current squad, with Jofra Archer, Chris Woakes and Olly Stone all missing through injury.
