South Africa name unchanged squad for climax to England Test series

Port Elizabeth and Johannesburg will host the final two matches of a series, starting at St George's Park next Thursday

South Africa are set to stick with the same XI which lost the second Test to England a Cape Town after naming an unchanged squad for the remainder of the series.

Dane Peterson will travel with the team to Port Elizabeth ahead of the third Test, though an unaltered line-up is expected.

The remaining members of the initial group selected for the start of the series will play for their respective teams in the CSA Domestic Four-Day competition.

The likes of Beuran Hendricks, Keegan Petersen, Andile Phehlukwayo and Rudi Second will remain active in the event they are required by The Proteas.

A Cricket South Africa statement added: "The selection panel are placing an emphasis on the importance of game time for non-starting players and prefer that they are available to their teams to help boost the competition. They will join the national team if and when required."

Defeat by 189 runs to England in Cape Town means the series is squared at 1-1 heading into the matches at St George's Park and the Wanderers.

In 30 Tests played at the home of the Warriors, South Africa have prevailed on 14 occasions including in five of the last seven.

England meanwhile will be forced into at least one change from the second Test, with James Anderson ruled out the rest of the tour with a rib injury.
