Hashim Amla, JP Duminy and Dale Steyn have all been included in South Africa's squad for the World Cup.

36-year-old Amla's position in the squad had been in question, however, with 7,910 ODI runs to his name, South Africa have stuck with pedigree.

Amla's presence adds to a strong top order with Aiden Markram and Quinton de Kock making up the top three.

Markram's inclusion means that Hampshire will be without an overseas player with Dimuth Karunaratne captaining Sri Lanka in the tournament.

Reeza Hendricks, who has been an ODI regular for South Africa over the past year, misses the cut.

Fast bowlers Anrich Nortje and Lungi Ngidi are included despite both players being ruled out of IPL stints through injury. Nortje (shoulder) had been picked up by Kolkata Knight Riders while Ngidi (side strain) was due to represent Chennai Super Kings.

Further experience comes in the form of allrounder Duminy, paceman Steyn and spinner Imran Tahir.

South Africa's World Cup campaign kicks off against the hosts England in the tournament opener at The Oval on May 30.
