The Scotland international joins a depleted Running Foxes attack which is without Matt Salisbury, Ed Barnes and Callum Parkinson, who are all sidelined with injuries
Leicestershire have moved to ease the injury issues across their bowling attack with the loan signing of Somerset's Josh Davey for the County Championship trip to Worcestershire.
Davey, who will return to Taunton following the game for the start of the T20 Blast, provides much-needed cover with Callum Parkinson, Matt Salisbury and Ed Barnes all missing through injury.
An experienced competitor who has taken 163 first-class wickets, Davey has featured in three out of five Championship games for Somerset this season, taking two wickets against Warwickshire in early April.
Davey will be looking to return to the form he was in several years ago as he took 24 wickets at 13.79 in the Covid-affected 2020 season and 35 wickets at 22.31 in 2021.
The man from Aberdeen also has notched 86 wickets at international level, including taking 6 for 28 against Afghanistan in 2015.

Leicestershire's director of cricket Claude Henderson commented: "Josh has an excellent track record and a lot of valuable experience. He will be a nice addition to our bowling attack and we look forward to welcoming him to our squad."
Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry added: "With the availability of our current pace attack, of which Josh is a vital element, there will be occasions when a player will miss out on selection.
"Whilst Josh wasn’t named in the squad for Middlesex, both Josh and ourselves felt that it was important for him to play competitive cricket if an opportunity was available.
"This loan arrangement will enable this to happen and is therefore beneficial to all three parties. We look forward to seeing Josh perform this week before welcoming him back to Taunton in time for the Blast."
