GEORGE DOBELL: Budinger has found opportunities hard to come by at Nottinghamshire and will join Joey Evison (Kent) and Zak Chappell (Derbyshire) in leaving the club
Sol Budinger is set to leave Nottinghamshire for a new start at Leicestershire.
Budinger, a 23-year-old top-order batter, has enjoyed an impressive campaign in the Royal London Cup (he is averaging 44.75 at a strike-rate of 142.06 with three half-centuries) but has struggled for opportunities at a club which has brought in several relatively big-name signings. He featured in only four Vitality Blast matches this year and has never played a first-class game.
His departure follows that of Joey Evison, who has signed for Kent, and Zak Chappell, who has signed for Derbyshire.

Nottinghamshire, who lose a significant number of their batters to the Hundred, had hoped he would sign a new deal but understand his desire for more first team cricket.
With Andrew Strauss' high performance review proposing that the Royal London Cup is played earlier in the season, the prospect of Nottinghamshire fielding something close to a full-strength side in 50-over cricket could well limit the opportunities for the likes of Budinger.
