The Blackcaps will head to The Grange for the first time since the 1999 World Cup in a pair of matches ahead of a possible meeting at October's T20 World Cup in Australia
Cricket Scotland have announced that their men's side will welcome Australia and New Zealand for full white-ball internationals next summer.
Australia will venture to Edinburgh for a T20 international on June 29 before embarking on a series of limited-overs games against England, commencing at Chester-le-Street on July 3.
Ahead of that fixture, Scotland will face New Zealand at The Grange for both a T20 international on June 10 and a previously-announced ODI, which is now brought forward to June 12.
Shane Burger, the Scotland's men's head coach, believes the fixtures will give his side an ideal opportunity to follow up their famous victory over the world-leading England side at the ground in 2018.
"The opportunity to play against two of the best teams in the world is an exciting prospect. We have beaten teams of this calibre previously and we will be looking to push them all the way on all occasions," Burger said.
"Cricket Scotland has set big goals for the year 2020 and this is part of that vision of playing against the world's best and challenging players and staff to keep improving both on and off the field."
In 2019, Scotland hosted both Afghanistan and Sri Lanka for two-match ODI series ahead of the World Cup, however games in each were ultimately lost to the weather
Australia's visit to Edinburgh will be their first since 2013, when centuries from openers Aaron Finch and Shaun Marsh set the platform for a 200-run victory. It will also be the first time the two sides have met in the T20 international format.
New Zealand last played at The Grange as far back as the 1999 World Cup, with figures of 4-7 from Chris Harris helping bowl the hosts out for just 121. More recently, the two sides faced off at The Oval during the 2009 World Twenty20.
Scotland's success at October's T20 World Cup Qualifier tournament means the matches could well serve as precursors to further meetings when the tournament kicks off in Australia next year.
Scotland have been drawn in Group B alongside Bangladesh, Namibia and The Netherlands, with the second-placed side from this pool set to join both Australia and New Zealand in Group 1 for the tournament's Super 12 stage.
