Sarah Glenn ruled out of Women's Ashes finale with appendicitis

England leg-spinner Sarah Glenn has been ruled out of the final match of the Women's Ashes with appendicitis.

Glenn, 23, had gone two years without playing an ODI ahead of this summer but has been ever-present in both white-ball legs of the multiformat series, picking up six wickets in the process.

Glenn made an unbeaten 22 on Sunday alongside Nat Sciver-Brunt in the three-run defeat at the Ageas Bowl and has since undergone an operation.

She is due to be at Taunton for the last match of the series, where a win for England would hand Heather Knight's side victory in the ODI series – having already won the T20I leg – although Australia's win at Southampton secured their retention of the overall trophy.

Glenn is set to be evaluated by medial staff ahead of The Hundred, with the leggie beginning a new chapter at London Spirit after leaving Trent Rockets and being picked up in the draft.

Charlie Dean replaced her in England's side at Taunton.
