Bates earned a call-up to the first team squad in 2020 due to injuries in the wicketkeeping department but didn't feature in any matches
Leicestershire have announced that wicketkeeper Sam Bates has signed a contract extension at the club
Bates, 21, joins fellow academy graduates Harry Swindells and Lewis Hill, who all study under former Leicestershire wicketkeeper and current head coach, Paul Nixon.
He earned a call-up to the first team squad in 2020 due to injuries in the wicketkeeping department but didn't feature in any matches.
The wicketkeeper will continue to train over the winter and will look to make his debut for the county in 2021.
