Kolkata: Punjab Kings 179-7, Kolkata Knight Riders 182-5 - Kolkata Knight Riders win by five wickets

Rinku Singh was once again Kolkata Knight Riders' star at the death as he hit Arshdeep Singh for a last-ball boundary to seal a win over Punjab Kings.

Rinku, who earlier in the competition hit five straight sixes to clinch an unlikely victory, had rather less to do this time but still needed two runs to win off the final delivery thanks to a fine effort from Arshdeep for Punjab.

Andre Russell's 23-ball 42, which featured three sixes and three fours, had dragged Kolkata to the brink, while KKR skipper Nitish Rana made 51 and Jason Roy hit 38 to lay a platform for Rinku's finishing act.

Sam Curran was dealt harsh punishment, conceding 44 runs in his three overs, while Liam Livingstone was taken down in his two overs of spin.

Earlier, Shikhar Dhawan had top-scored for Punjab with 57, though his side's innings was primarily made up of cameos.

Prabhsimran Singh (12), Livingstone (15), Jitesh Sharma (21), Rishi Dhawan (19), Shahrukh Khan (21*) and Harpreet Brar (17*) all chipped in to take Kings to a total that looked like it might be enough until KKR's late show.
