Adelaide Strikers have been left to sweat over the fitness of Rashid Khan after their premier spinner limped off during the win over Brisbane Heat.

The Afghanistan international suffered what appeared to be a hamstring injury at the end of the 18th over of the chase.

Rashid pulled up while pursuing the ball as Jimmy Peirson attempted a second run deep into the chase.

He left the field before another ball was bowled and looked in visible pain on his way down the tunnel at the Brisbane Cricket Ground.

It remains to be seen how severe the injury is and what part the 22-year-old will have during the remainder of the competition.

Rashid has been named as one of the six players competing in the Ultimate Kricket Challenge in Dubai, which starts on December 24.

His country Afghanistan are then in action against Ireland in three one-day internationals on January 18, 21 and 23. He is expected to join up with the squad from January 9.

Strikers have six BBL matches before that date.

The development took some of the gloss of a hard-fought victory for Strikers, who claimed a two-run success to claim their second victory of the competition.

Key to that success was Rashid's figures of 2-30 from his four overs, getting rid of Max Bryant and Dan Lawrence during a ragged Heat pursuit of 151 to win.

Despite being reduced to 68 for 8, Peirson produced a fine knock of 69 to almost guide his side to victory, but a frugal final over from Dan Worrall got Strikers over the line.
