The Cricketer runs the rule over the individual performances of the players from Australia's win over New Zealand at Lord's
Martin Guptill (20): Unbelievable grab to dismiss Smith. Dug in with the bat but eventually winkled out lbw by Berhrendorff. 6.5
Henry Nicholls (8): Brought in for the misfiring Colin Munro - hit a couple of boundaries then gloved down leg. 4
Kane Williamson (1-25 & 40): Found himself in early once again, accumulated well but fell to the superb Starc. 7
Ross Taylor (30): Needed to pick up the rate and fell trying to do so, skying one miles up and taken by Carey. 6
Tom Latham (14): Not been his tournament so far, sent off by a flying catch from Smith. 5
Jimmy Neesham (2-28 & 9): Tremendous caught and bowled to send Maxwell packing. Having a decent tournament. 6.5
Colin de Grandhomme (0-29 & 0): Opened with a maiden and completed and economical, though wicketless, eight-over spell. Gone first ball looking to smash Smith into the stands. 5
Mitchell Santner (0-23 & 12): Bowled just three overs and was expensive. 4
Ish Sodhi (0-35 & 5): Came into the side for Matt Henry but was fairly ordinary. 5
Lockie Ferguson (2-49 & 0): Removed Warner with a vicious first delivery and had Smith soon after. His pace and aggression will cause anyone problems. 7.5
Trent Boult (4-51 & 2*): Got the big wicket of Finch and turned OK figures into decent ones with that final-over hat-trick. 7.5
Usman Khawaja top scored for Australia
Aaron Finch (8 & 0-7): A rare failure, trapped lbw by Boult. 5
David Warner (16): Looked like he was about to get going but was on the receiving end of an absolute snorter from Ferguson. 5.5
Usman Khawaja (88): Held the innings together when the big hitters around him fell. A measured effort alongside Carey. 8.5
Steve Smith (5 & 1-6): Fell to that Guptill screamer before he had a chance to have much of a say in this one with the bat. Came to life by taking his first ODI wicket since 2014 then took a great catch in the field. 6
Marcus Stoinis (21 & 0-12): Would have hoped for more - this his top score so far. Beaten by a decent delivery from Neesham. 5.5
Glenn Maxwell (1 & 0-18): A badly mistimed shot which fired back to Neesham who claimed a fine catch. 2
Alex Carey (71): A crucial hand in a partnership of 107 alongside Usman Khawaja. Is enjoying a fruitful tournament with the blade. 8
Pat Cummins (23 & 1-14): Useful runs down the order and a key wicket in the shape of Taylor. 7
Mitchell Starc (0 & 5-26): Added to his bucketload of wickets in the tournament. Could lead Australia to glory. 9
Jason Behrendorff (0 & 2-31): Has been a very useful introduction indeed. 7.5
Nathan Lyon (0* & 1-36): Tight as you’d expect. Picked up Neesham caught and bowled. 7
