The 24-year-old is back with the Sharks after being released by England ahead of the third and final one-day international against Australia
Phil Salt has returned to Sussex after being released by England ahead of the third one-day international against Australia at Emirates Old Trafford.
The 24-year-old was enlisted as a reserve for the ODIs but has not been called upon after Jason Roy's return to full fitness.
Instead of having a watching brief for the concluding match of the series, Salt will return to his county and goes straight into the squad for the T20 Blast match against defending champions Essex Eagles on Wednesday (September 16).
He missed four matches due to being called up at the start of the month, with the Sharks losing twice either side of victories over Hampshire and Kent.
Salt, who joins Dawid Malan in being released back to his club, was part of the bio-secure bubble ahead of the Ireland ODIs before being left out of the main squad, meaning he is still waiting for his international bow.
In four Blast outings this season, the Welsh-born opener has scored 107 runs at a strike-rate of 191.07.
